Former World of Wonder head of development Jacquie Lawrence has joined Sky One as an executive producer on a three-month contract.
Former World of Wonder head of development Jacquie Lawrence has joined Sky One as an executive producer on a three-month contract.

She has been brought in to oversee a range of undisclosed new factual programmes, one of which is believed to be a documentary about guns to run in Sky One's autumn schedule as a companion piece to Sky's new US acquisition Deadwood.

Lawrence will report to both Sky One controller James Baker and newly appointed director of original programming Jo Wallace.

She left World of Wonder in 2002 for a one-year sabbatical to undertake an MA in American Studies at London University. She has previously made programmes for Sky One, including Lesbians Behaving Badly.

l Sky One has lined up Newcastle United manager Sir Bobby Robson to coach the 'legends XI' team of former football professionals set to compete against a team of celebrities in its new reality show The Match. Other faces set to appear in the October show include Callum Best, Gazza, Peter Beardsley and Matthew Le Tissier.
