Three new factual entertainment series launched on BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4 on Sunday night, but were all beaten by the finale of ITV1’s established drama Lewis.
The concluding instalment of Lewis’ latest four-part run secured an audience of 6.27m (28.5%) across ITV1 and ITV1 HD from 8pm to 10pm on Sunday night, according to overnight figures from Attentional.
Elsewhere, two-part Robert Winston-fronted show The Big Personality Test: a Child of Our Time Special delivered 2.74m (12.3%) viewers to BBC1 at 9pm last night.
Some 1.64m (7.4%) viewers joined An African Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby on BBC2 in the same slot, while 840,000 (3.8%) watched the first episode of five-part Genius of Britain on Channel 4. A further 114,600 (0.7%) watched the programme on catch-up service C4+1.
On Five, film Spider-Man captured 1.12m (5.2%) viewers between 8pm and 10.25pm.
Japan v England
On Sunday afternoon, England faced Japan in their final friendly game before the World Cup later this month. The coverage, which kicked off at 12.50pm and ended at 3.35pm, delivered 3.42m (27.8%) viewers across ITV1 and ITV1 HD.
As England ran out eventual 2-1 winners in a sloppy display, the coverage peaked at 3pm with an audience of 5.09m (39.9%) on ITV1.
