TUESDAY: National Treasure closed with 2.3m (11%) while the launch of Sharon Horgan’s black comedy Divorce doubled Sky Atlantic’s slot average.

The last instalment of The Forge’s four-part Operation Yewtree-inspired drama recovered from last week’s series low to eclipse the channel’s 1.6m (7.5%) slot average. It picked up an average of 2.4m (12.2%) across its run.

It went head-to-head with the final episode of Dragonfly’s three-part doc Ambulance, which picked up 3.5m (16.5%), down from last week’s series high of 4.3m (21.8%). An average 3.8m (19.1%) watched across its run, below BBC1’s 4.3m (20.5%) slot average.

The fourth instalment of Great Continental Railway Journeys was watched by 1.7m (8.1%) on BBC2 while on Channel 5, the penultimate episode of Eamonn and Ruth: How the Other Half Lives picked up 790,000 (3.8%) across the 9pm hour.

However, the 0-0 World Cup qualifier between England and Slovenia on ITV dominated the evening. The match ran from 7.15pm-10pm and was watched by an average of 5.3m (26.3%). It peaked with 6.5m (31.1%) at 8.27pm.

The launch of Sharon Horgan’s 10-part black comedy Divorce more than doubled the channel’s 43,100 (0.3%) slot average, according to Barb data supplied by overnights.tv.

Over on C4, the third episode of Damned, What Larks’s six-part comedy about social services starring Jo Brand, fell to a series low of 640,000 (4.2%), shedding more than 300,000 viewers from last week.
