How does it work? It is available to businesses through a direct connection or on a pay-as-you-go basis via edit, storage and transfer facilities called Media Access Bureaus (MABs). MABs are being positioned across 19 locations including Liverpool, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Preston and MediaCityUK in Salford.

Who is behind it? The Northern Way has invested £9.4m in developing the physical premises and the high-speed telecommunication network. This was supported by £2.27m from the North West Development Agency. Reseller Altered Images kitted out the MABs.
