NAB 2011: Panasonic will demonstrate its new AJ-PCD30 P2 drive at this year’s NAB show, with the three-slot device delivering the fastest offloads from a solid-state source, according to the manufacturer.

The AJ-PCD30 (pictured) features a USB 3.0 interface for transfer rates of up to 4.8Gbps to offload AVC-Intra 100 footage at 15X real-time, making it suitable for long-form productions.

Panasonic will also be showcasing its 3D-ready AG-HPD24 deck with native 24P recording including 3D synchronised record and playback and variable frame rates and a four-channel audio recording in AVC-Intra 100/50.

The Japan-based manufacturer will also use the Las Vegas trade show to introduce the BT-LH910 monitor, which it describes as “a powerful new 23cm LCD monitor for field and studio applications”.

It features newly-developed 3D assist functions and interfaces including HDMI and 3G-SDI.

Panasonic is also introducing new ingest and storage software. Its AJ-SF100 software is designed for archiving P2 files to LTO, Blu-ray or other storage devices with proxy creation, metadata editing and data base software (SQL server) functions.

The AJ-SF110 software for video ingesting via IEEE1394 or SDI converts footage on connected video recorder to P2 files such as AVC-Intra 100/50, DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, DVCPRO and DV during ingestion.
