Emma Young to deliver premium factual reality series and formats at Banijay UK label
Hunted exec producer Emma Young has landed the permanent role at producer Shine TV, Broadcast can reveal.
As senior executive producer Young will work with the wider creative teams to deliver premium factual reality series and develop new formats. She will report into director of programmes Matt Bennett.
Young has helmed the latest series of Shine’s long-running Channel 4 returner Hunted as executive producer, delivering an average seven-day consolidated audience of 1.42m and doubling the slot for 16-34s, according to Banijay UK.

Her other constructed factual reality shows for C4 include Shine’s Banged Up and Celebrity Hunted, and Minnow Films’ Go Back To Where You Came From.
She has previously held producer-director roles at the likes of Twenty Twenty, Firecracker FIlms, RDF Television and Boundless Productions, with credits including BBC3 series The Baby Bomb and C4’ Sex On Wheels and Strippers.
Young said: “Shine has been my home on and off for the past few years, so I’m thrilled to make it permanent. I can’t wait to continue creating bold and exciting factual entertainment with such a stellar team.”
Bennett said: “Emma and I have worked together on multiple series at Shine and she is one of the most talented programme makers working in British television. Emma consistently delivers groundbreaking, engaging and entertaining formats which make us all think about the world around us.
