Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi won a special prize at the inaugural Royal Television Society Scotland Awards in Glasgow this week.
The actor picked up the RTS Scotland Award for his “outstanding contribution to television” during a ceremony in which the BBC and STV also picked up gongs.
BBC Scotland’s Field of Blood was honoured in the drama category, while STV Productions’ BBC2 documentary Piper Alpha: Fire in the Night won the factual award.
STV News’ coverage of the helicopter crash at a Glasgow pub in November last year won in the news category, as BT Sport picked up an award for its coverage of Motherwell v Celtic.
