The former director of BBC Children’s returns to Salford to lead both MediaCity and Dock10

MediaCity owner Landsec has appointed Alice Webb as CEO of MediaCity.

In this newly created role, Alice will lead both MediaCity and Dock10, bringing the two brands under one unified leadership.

The move underlines Landsec’s more joined-up approach across its media and studio operations, says the company.

Webb will be responsible for delivering a long-term vision that reinforces MediaCity as the home of future media, says Landsec. She will support new forms of content creation and digital innovation, and create long-term value for Salford, Greater Manchester, and the wider region.

She joins Landsec in September 2025 from Universal Music Group, where she was the founding CEO of Mercury Studios, the group’s global film and TV production and distribution company.

Prior to that, she held senior leadership positions at the BBC, including director of children’s & education, overseeing CBeebies and CBBC.

She has previously been chief operating officer of BBC North and directed the broadcaster’s relocation to MediaCity back in 2011.

Mark Senior, who has served as CEO of Dock10 since 2012, will step down on Webb’s arrival and take on an ongoing advisory role.

We have together built a market-leading TV facilities provider across multiple genres, including entertainment, sport and drama. I am delighted at Alice’s appointment and am sure that under her leadership Dock10 will play a major part in the future MediaCity story.”

MediaCity is home to more than 250 media, tech, and creative businesses. Landsec acquired its final 25% stake in the company in November 2024 and has plans to expand the estate to 60 acres, delivering around 3,000 new homes and 800,000 sq ft of additional commercial space.
