Banijay UK has undergone a large expansion of its in-house post capabilities across London, Glasgow, and Manchester.

The in-house services, labelled B Post, now offer over 25 cutting rooms, four onlines/grading suites, four audio suites and podcasting studios across the UK. These are initially focused on unscripted, but the resources are available to all Banijay UK businesses.

This expansion includes new facilities and a new team in London, the doubling of capacity in Glasgow, and investment into its Manchester hub.

Donna Mulvey-Jones was appointed director of post production earlier this year to spearhead this move. She joins the production company with over 20 years’ experience in in-house post, setting up and running facilities for the the likes of Netflix, All3Media and Fremantle

In London, Mulvey-Jones is supported by two newly created roles, head of technical operations, Ben Keable, and senior post producer, Kate George.

Keable had been director of operations at Halo, and has also held senior positions at Evolutions, Molinare, and Visual Data Media Services during over 18 years in the industry. George, meanwhile, has over 30 years’ experience with the likes of Molinare and Envy.

In Glasgow, Gavin Wilson has been promoted to head of technical operations, and joined by new hires Jenny Bruce, Post Producer, Rachel Clark, Online Editor, and David Mercer, Senior Edit Support – all from local post house Edit 123.

Banijay UK also has existing post-production operations in Manchester under its Workerbee label, led by Keren Aarons. Aarons is also now supporting the wider B Post UK operation and working on future expansion and consolidation plans in the region.

Sarb Nijjer, chief operating officer, Banijay UK, said: “It’s a hugely exciting time for post production as AI, cloud editing and other technological advancements drive innovation in the sector. Investing in our capabilities, providing the right tech and the right people and putting post facilities at the heart of Banijay is an important step.”

Mulvey-Jones said: “Post is not a ‘later’ stage anymore, or a bolt-on service - we’re simply part of production. For a production company, bringing capability in-house just makes sense; it gives us control of the foundations and ensures we’re building workflows that are flexible for the future and on our own timelines. We’ll absolutely continue partnering with the fantastic post houses we rely on - but the industry is under pressure, technology is advancing fast, and it’s important for us to stay relevant in how we work.”
