Picture Shop has appointed Hamish Mason as director of production in the UK.

Mason brings more than 16 years of experience across production, camera, VFX and post-production. He began his career in Sydney on features including Mad Max: Fury Road, The Great Gatsby, The Wolverine and The Lego Batman Movie. He moved up through the ranks to post-production supervisor and VFX producer in Australia, taking features, documentaries and series from shoot through final delivery for major studios including Netflix, MGM and IMAX.

Prior to joining Picture Shop, Mason was head of production, features and episodic at Farm Soho.

Mason will be based in London and oversee Picture Shop’s UK dailies business, guiding each project from camera tests through principal photography and delivery. He will also manage joint UK and US projects, overseeing UK productions that work with Picture Shop’s roster of artists in North America.

Picture Shop London provides dailies for feature films and premium episodic series.

“Hamish brings extensive production and post-production experience and leadership to further strengthen our roster. We are so pleased that he has returned to Picture Shop and are confident that his presence will strengthen the experience and final deliverables that impact our clients, filmmakers and studios,” said Bill Romeo, CEO of Streamland Media, the parent company of Picture Shop.

“I’m thrilled to be back at Picture Shop. I’m looking forward to helping grow our dailies and post services in the UK by building strong client relationships, connecting clients with Picture Shop’s industry-leading talent and global resources, and identifying opportunities to expand our services here in London. It’s all very exciting,” adds Mason.
