Brighton-based post house hires former Clear Cut, Halo and Splice dubbing mixer

The Edit has hired Sam Castleton to its audio team.
The dubbing mixer has over 20 years’ experience in the industry, mainly at Halo as well as stints with Splice and Clear Cut. He has worked across factual, natural history, drama and film, and most recently worked with Splice as a senior re-recording mixer.
Castleton joins The Edit at a time when the Brighton-based post house’s slate includes The Jury: Murder Trial (ScreenDog / C4), Hidden Treasures of the National Trust (Blast Films / BBC), What Not To Eat (Plum Pictures / C4), Interior Design Masters (DSP / BBC) and The Repair Shop (Ricochet / BBC).
The Edit founder Dave Austin said: “Sam will be working alongside our renowned colourist Josh Cordell, and so this move really cements a top-class, craft-driven finishing team. With a creative team of this calibre, and detailed workflow design by our technical director, Sharman Finn, we continue to be able to take on complex projects of every scale, whether that be streamer dramas or multi-episode, multi-camera reality series.”
Castleton added: “I’ve been watching The Edit grow over the years and I’m now excited to be embarking on my next chapter here. There’s a genuine, tight-knit, team feeling amongst the staff and clients which I’m delighted to become a part of. The facility is a beautifully considered space, with a fresh creative energy running throughout and fantastic modern kit to work with. Being in the heart of a thriving creative city next to the sea is a nice bonus too. I’m looking forward to working with the clients here and helping shape what comes next.”
Claire Hamilton, post production executive at The Edit, said: “We are delighted to welcome Sam to The Edit. Sam is highly respected across the industry. His creative talent and fantastic reputation for collaborating with clients, combined with his technical expertise and impressive range of credits, aligns perfectly with our ambition at The Edit. We couldn’t be happier that he has joined our team.”
