Jonathan Rawlinson, James Coore and Jack George all arrive from Realtime

London-based The Loc Studios has expanded its 3D and high-end episodic services with a triple hire from Realtime.
The VFX house has added Jonathan Rawlinson as executive producer, James Coore as VFX supervisor and Jack George for on-set supervision for features and series.
Rawlinson had been at Realtime for almost seven years, also as an executive producer, and has also worked with the likes of Technicolor during over 12 years working in VFX. He has previously worked together with Coore on the likes of the 60th Anniversary Special of Doctor Who, Wild Blue Yonder, Netflix series Dance Monsters and Duncan Jones’ anticipated feature film, Rogue Trooper.
Those came during Coore’s almost five years at Realtime, where he was a VFX supervisor, and he has also spent time with Absolute Post, Jellyfish and more during over two decades in the industry.
Meanwhile, George has worked on the likes of Aquaman, Andor, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Skyfall, as well as recent Sky series Lockerbie: A Search for Truth, during over 15 years in the industry where he has also held freelance roles on productions for Warner Bros. Entertainment, Paramount Pictures, LucasFilm and more before his five years with Realtime.
Rawlinson said: “James and I have been lucky to collaborate with The LOC Studios previously and have always been impressed by the team’s passion and capabilities. We’re thrilled to be here at such an exciting moment in the studio’s growth. We have had a great start to 2026 with VFX awards for work on four feature films (for Film4/BFI, Mubi and Focus Features) and TV Series for Starz, Apple + and the BBC.”
Coore added: “It is encouraging to see the impact the new tax credits are having on the independent film sector. There is a clear sense of renewed ambition in the projects now moving forward. It’s been exciting to be involved at this stage of the studio’s expansion and to work across such a varied slate of productions. The work spans invisible visual effects, plate augmentation, CG creature work, major set extensions and environmental enhancement across horror, period drama and comedy. We are also supporting several productions shooting on 35mm film.”
Jaime Leonard, co-founder of The LOC Studios, said: “Chris Chitty and I recently passed our 5-year anniversary of founding the company and the timing feels just right to bring James, Jonathan and Jack into the fold to help us expand our capacity to meet growing demand from our clients. We also want to lean into their experience of providing clients with on set VFX supervision and production support, which will enable them to deliver ambitious and complex CGI sequences for episodic series and films.”
