Employees earning under £50k to receive payment amid rising prices

Whisper boys

Whisper is issuing cost-of-living bonuses to all of its employees earning under £50k-a-year.

Whisper’s cost-of-living payments will be made in two sums, in September and January, to all qualifying team members. For those at the lower end of the pay scale who have been prioritised to receive extra support, is equivalent to 1.5% of annual salary.

The production company isn’t the first to make such a move, but it is one of the smaller companies to have taken direct action in this way. ITV staff are receiving £2000 in cost-of-living support, and Sky is giving 70% of its UK and Ireland-based staff £1000, or the equivalent in Euros - with £20m being issued in total by the pay-TV broadcaster over two payments in October and January.

Sunil Patel, Whisper CEO commented: “We want to help those in the company who need it most, in the best way we can. We hope these additional payments, made in Sept and January, will go some way to assisting those who may need some extra help at this time. The mental health and well-being of our team is always our priority.”
