MONDAY: Forest’s feature-length single no match for ITV1’s football coverage

Love and Loss: The Pandemic 5 Years On (BBC1) 8.30pm-10pm

821,000 (6.5%)

Forest’s feature doc reflecting the people lost and lives affected by the Covid-19 pandemic was unable to match ITV1’s coverage of the World Cup Qualifier between England and Latvia.

Love and Loss: The Pandemic 5 Years On was also shy of the 1m (8.1%) who watch Liz Carr: Better Off Dead? at 9pm on a Tuesday in May and was well behind the 1.3m (9.6%) who watched Panorama special Alzheimer’s: A Turning Point? In a similar slot in February 2024.

It couldn’t keep pace with ITV1’s coverage, which saw 3.9m (30.9%) tune in across the three hours from 7pm to watch England’s 3-0 victory over Latvia. The match dominated its slot from kick-off at 7.30pm.

BBC2 aired University Challenge to 1.3m (9.9%), while its schedule predecessor Chess Masters: The Endgame entertained 655,000 (5%) at 8pm.

Traffic Cops on 5 brought in 900,000 (6.8%), while the final episode of Batch From Scratch: Cooking For Less informed 664,000 (5%) on Channel 4. The series averaged 771,000 (5.9%) across its six parts.

At 9pm, the finale of Great British Menu cooked up 1.1m (9.2%) on BBC2, while C4’s Tempting Fortune hit its midpoint with a series low of 552,000 (4.5%).

Police Suspect No 1 hauled in 1m (8.2%) on 5, according to Barb data supplied by overnights.tv
