Red3, a recently established offshoot of Red Vision, has provided transitional shots for a show within the BBC's Natural World strand called The Amber Time Machine. The film follows David Attenborough as he traces a piece of amber he was given as a child back to a Baltic forest. The Bristol-based firm was asked to provide shots of insects in amber that take the viewer back in time. Red3 created the objects and filmed them using a combination of turntable shots and Timeslice. Otterfilms did the filming on Digibeta and 16mm film. Sue Land was the designer and compositor using Discreet Combustion. The director was John Aitchison. The show airs from Sunday, 15 February on BBC2.
