Sammon, ITV's former editor of network entertainment, was Rosencrantz's deputy until she left ITV in January 2005 and he quit earlier this month.
Starting at the end of July, he will report to Clare Hollywood, the channel's newly promoted head of commissioning. His credits include Best Ever Spitting Image, Dancing on Ice, Family Fortunes- due to air in the autumn with Vernon Kay as host - and Rio 's World Cup Wind Ups.
The restructuring of the commissioning team is part of Living's drive to commission 40% of all its content this year, a growth of 10% year on year.
Meanwhile, Rosencrantz has acquired US series Justice, Men in Treesand Happy Hour from this year's LA Screenings, in a deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution (WBITD).
Justice , Jerry Bruckheimer's legal investigation thriller, revolves around the world of an LA law firm whose high-profile celebrity attorneys will go to any length to free their rich clients. It debuts on US network Fox at 9pm on Wednesday on 30 August.
Men in Trees is a lighthearted drama, following relationship coach and best-selling author Marin Frist who discovers, while on her way to Alaska, that her fiancé has been cheating. It is premiering on ABC at 9pm on 1 September.
Finally, Happy Houris a comedy about Henry Beckman, who in the space of one morning gets dumped by his girlfriend, learns he can no longer work for her uncle and gets kicked out of their apartment. It is set to premiere on Fox at 8.30pm on 7 September.
All three will air on Living next year. The deal was brokered by Louise Benham, managing editor, Living TV, and Chris Law, managing director, UK Television, WBITD.
