Outside broadcast and satellite uplink firm SIS Live has signed a deal with civil and defence space systems firm Astrium.

Managing director David Meynell told Broadcast there was “huge potential” in the defence and government hardware sector for SIS Live.

“I have no doubt that this deal will lead to growth in the satellite links division of SIS,” he added.

Under the terms of the reseller deal SIS Live will use its in-house development and manufacturing facilities together with Astrium’s development programmes to supply new satellite uplinking systems.

SIS Live said that the first product it will produce for Astrium is “the world’s first fully-automated flat plate antenna system”.
