Sky Sports is to broadcast live domestic women’s cricket for the first time after striking a deal with the ECB.

Women's Cricket

The broadcaster will cover eight matches from the second T20 Kia Super League, which gets underway in August with a clash between defending champions Southern Vipers against Western Storm at the Ageas Bowl on Thursday 10 August.

It will air six of the group stage matches, plus the two games which take place on finals day.

The deal follows Sky’s rights deal to cover the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup this summer, along with women’s Superleague Netball and Six Nations rugby.

Sky Sports head of cricket Bryan Henderson said the broadcaster was offering women’s cricket a platform “like never before”.

“This is another example of Sky’s support of the women’s game, we hope our coverage this summer will help inspire the next generation of cricketers,” he added.
