With Edge One, Lawo provides a versatile platform that brings audio and video connectivity together in a single, compact device.

Designed for broadcast and Pro AV applications, it combines flexible I/O, processing capabilities and software-defined functionality, enabling users to adapt the system to a wide range of workflows while reducing equipment footprint, complexity and deployment time.

The device features eight bi-directional HD-BNC connectors for SDI signals that can be configured as inputs or outputs, along with four HDMI ports, two of which can alternatively serve as inputs. Additional connectivity includes SFP ports for MADII/O, GPI I/Os, a USB-C audio interface, and dedicated Sync, Reference and Word Clock connections.

For audio applications, Edge One supports interchangeable interface modules tailored to different requirements: Mic/Line inputs, Mic/Line inputs with Line outputs, and a dedicated commentary module. These user-swappable options allow rapid adaptation to changing production demands and make the platform suitable for a broad range of use cases.

Edge One also supports Lawo FLEX, allowing users to activate only the functionality they need through software licenses. Three preconfigured packages – Audio, Video and Audio + Video – simplify deployment. Optional licenses add capabilities such as additional video signal instances, frame synchronisers, JPEG XS encoding and decoding, the Edge One Commentary App, MADI I/O with integrated SRC, and Lawo’s mc²-grade DSP for low-latency local audio mixing.

Suitable for fixed installations and mobile productions alike, Edge One can be mounted in a 1RU rack, installed with an optional bracket, or transported between locations with integrated rubber bumpers for protection.
