PocketOP overlays field-of-view brackets on iPhone camera feeds and is dedicated to broadcast and PTZ workflows

iPhone app PocketOP launches on the App Store today (1 June 2026), enabling broadcast operators, camera directors, and location scouts to see exactly what any lens would frame from a given position.
PocketOP overlays real-time field-of-view brackets on the iPhone camera feed, and is dedicated to broadcast and PTZ workflows.
The app has been created by Dutch freelance multicamera operator Martijn van der Linden.

Key features:
- Real-time FOV brackets overlaid on the iPhone camera feed, showing both ends of the zoom range simultaneously
- Matched to the correct sensor format
- Scout lists to save and share findings from a location visit
- Custom lens entry for glass not in the database
- Screenshot capture that includes FOV overlay
- Frame dimensions overlay; a setting where you can see the size in meters of the frame at a set distance
- Compare lens, a second FOV bracket in a different colour that allows for lens comparison

PocketOP includes a database of 611 lenses and 123 PTZ cameras, including:
- Canon CJ, HJ and UHD-DIGISUPER broadcast lenses
- Fujinon XA, UA and ZA series
- PTZ cameras from Sony, Panasonic, Canon, BirdDog, JVC, and others
- Cine lenses from ARRI, Cooke, Zeiss, Leitz, DZOFilm, and others
- New lenses and PTZ cameras will be added as they are released
The app is available for free, including four lenses and one PTZ camera. The full database costs €9.99/year (introductory price during June 2026). The app requires iOS 17 or later.
