Bomber doc takes flight

On Monday, Channels 4 and 5 tackled the two great scourges of the moment: fanaticism and greed. Both are darkly dispiriting at best, but at least the buffoonish Blatter is a relative comic turn. Elsewhere, a bomber once armed with nuclear bombs got the nostalgia treatment.

Channel 4’s ISIS: The British Women Supporters Unveiled achieved 1.4 million/7% (280,000 +1) at 9pm, ahead of BBC2’s London Spy (1.4 million/6%) and Channel 5’s Sepp Blatter Exposed: The Fall of FIFA (0.4 million/2%; 55,000 +1).

At 9pm on Tuesday, the third episode of BBC2’s The Great Pottery Throw Down averaged 1.7 million/7%, its lowest in live ratings so far. However, it still defeated C4’s 24 Hours In A&E (1.2 million/5%; 412,000 +1, the lowest of this run) and C5’s Eamonn And Ruth: How The Other Half Lives (700,000/4%; 119,000 +1, its lowest yet).

On Sunday, C4’s Guy Martin: Last Flight Of The Vulcan Bomber averaged an impressive 2.2 million/9% (342,000 +1) over 90 minutes from 7.30pm. Opposite from 8pm, BBC2’s Ireland With Simon Reeve delivered 1.8 million/ 7%, while C5’s Impractical Jokers double bill amused 380,000/ 1.6% (39,000 +1) and 280,000/ 1.1% (29,000 +1) respectively.
