BBC Radio 2 host and political presenter Jeremy Vine is to return to BBC1's daytime schedule in the spring with a second series of his celebrity interview show.
BBC Radio 2 host and political presenter Jeremy Vine is to return to BBC1's daytime schedule in the spring with a second series of his celebrity interview show.

BBC controller of daytime Alison Sharman has ordered another series of Jeremy Vine Meetsfrom indie Ten Alps for transmission in March.

The 5 x 30-minute series will see Vine interview five British actors, such as Jeremy Irons, Ken Stott and Rupert Everett, about their careers and personal lives.

The first series, which aired last summer in a 9am slot, saw Vine chat to music legends including Sir Bob Geldof, Sting, Elvis Costello and Deborah Harry.

Vine will also front book club programme Page Turnersfor BBC1 daytime in the spring. The series is being produced by Princess Productions and will feature celebrity advocates and authors championing a book in front of a studio audience made up of Britain's reading groups.

Vine presents his own eponymous R2 show on weekdays between 12pm and 2pm.
