Fledgling over-50s music TV channel Vintage TV has appointed Ian Davis as its commercial director as it passes 500,000 weekly viewers.

Vintage TV, which launched in September on Freesat and Sky, has also ordered a one-off doc from multi-platform entertainment business Silver Bullet about West End musical Dreamboats and Petticoats.

It has also commissioned 60 more music videos from Silver Bullet, which are produced using archive clips of artists, led by Grammy-award winning director Scott Millaney.

Millaney will advise Vintage TV’s chief executive David Pick on new shows and videos, drawing on his 35-year career in music.

Commercial director Davis joins after a 27-year career in the ads industry and will work with Vintage TV’s sales agency Media Icon to help bring advertisers and sponsors to the channel.

Pick said the channel was gaining traction with viewers quickly. “Vintage TV will be securing a range of unique and superb programming to add to our already impressive array of content,” he added.
