US studio Warner Bros has snared another executive from indie Tiger Aspect to continue its push into the international production market.
After poaching Tiger’s managing director Andrew Zein earlier this year to oversee the studio’s development and production around the world, Warner Bros International TV Production has now hired Adam Steinman as vice president of non-scripted international development and sales.
Based in Los Angeles, Steinman will report into Zein and will be charged with overseeing the adaptation and development of non-scripted programming based on formats and original concepts developed both internally and with third party producers.
Steinman will also look to identify US producers to partner with as well as acquiring US formats for international exploitation.
It follows the establishment of Warner Bros International TV Production unit a year ago, which is looking to acquire indies in territories around the world; develop original local programming; and adapt studio content for local markets.
“Adam’s keen sense of reality programming and his breadth of knowledge in this specialized genre make him a terrific addition to our newly established business,” said Zein.
“As the bulk of our operations are based in London, we will look to Adam to represent our efforts on the other side of the pond.”
Steinman previously spent four years at Tiger Aspect USA, where he was vice president of development and production, working on shows including Make Me a Supermodel, Cook Yourself Thin, Rookies and Extreme Trains.
Prior to Tiger, he worked at the US arm of another UK indie – Lion Television - where, as head of development, he worked on shows including Cash Cab, SWAT USA and Science Investigators.
