3sixtymedia has invested in remote-access editing technology from FORscene for use on the ITV Studios ob-doc The Lakes.

A FORscene server will be used to host footage for logging, assembly and viewing and review while the production team are on location in The Lake District, Leeds, London and Manchester.

DVCam rushes will be ingested simultaneously onto FORscene’s server and an Apple XSAN server at 3sixtymedia’s Manchester facilities.

The first phase of the off-line will then be done on location, producing an EDL for the start of the craft edit.

Three Final Cut Pro off-line suites and a finishing suite will be used to complete the edit.

The project will take three months to complete.
