Euphonix has secured the first UK sale for its S5 Fusion digital mixing audio system.

The new 24-fader, 78-channel system has EuCon DAW control of a Pyramix digital audio workstation. It has been installed housed in Theatre A at 2nd Sense's new facility at Elstree Film Studios.

2nd Sense senior dubbing mixer Richard Sillitto said that having pushed their current technology to the limit the company need to take a step forward, especially with the growing demand for 5.1 for broadcast.

“We wanted a console with the sophistication our clients and projects demand, but at a price point that made sense,” he said. “Using Pyramix as our house DAW system, we needed a console that would integrate seamlessly with this platform. [Also] it's not unusual for our broad spectrum of clients to bring in different DAWs, and being able to accommodate them is very important to us.”

The S5 Fusion is designed for audio post-production and music applications. Its EuCon high-speed Ethernet control protocol extends the control capabilities of the console beyond the dedicated DSP cores to the outside world, bringing any DAW tracks onto the console surface for full control during mixing.

2nd Sense Broadcast works with a range of television producers and broadcasters. Its credits include Later with Jools Holland.
