3sixtymedia’s post-production technical manager Taig McNab will join Lime Pictures later this month as its IT and production technology manager.

The newly created role will see McNab take responsibility for ensuring that all the IT and production technology used by the independent producer is fit-for-purpose and delivers the required results for the All3Media-owned business.

He will also be tasked with investigating a potential move to an IP-based infrastructure at the Hollyoaks-indie.

McNab will be based in Liverpool but will look after all Lime Pictures sites, managing teams in both London and Merseyside.

Lime Pictures head of operations David Boyle said: “We have created such a wide ranging role to reflect the convergence of IT and production technology. Taig’s appointment is in recognition of this and the significant part technology plays in our business.

“His remit includes everything from making sure our increasingly mobile staff can have the same experience working in or out of our offices through to exploring the practicalities and value of moving to IP infrastructure and the use of commodity IT systems in the production environment. Taig’s wealth of experience is a perfect fit to realise the opportunities this presents.”

Between 2012 and 2014 McNab was the project manager overseeing the move that saw ITV’s post-production facilities transferred from Manchester to MediaCityUK in Salford.

Before joining ITV in 2011, he was chief engineer at WAM London, having spent his early career as a freelance editor.

He said of this new job: “I’m excited to be joining such a dynamic, innovative team and hope to build on the excellent work already being done at Lime.

“With the broad remit of the role, there’s a real opportunity to do some fantastic things.”
