Brief Create more than 300 shots, including a CG world that features Athens above a magical forest, for Russell T. Davis’ adaptation of Shakespeare’s classic.

How it was done The CG forest features throughout the film and blends scenes shot in a real wood with the studio sets. Using a combination of Planetside’s Terragen, SpeedTree’s software and Lola’s in-house software, Tim Zaccheo and his team were able to add elaborate set extensions and journeys across the city and through the forest. Additional effects included whirlwinds of leaves, a lightning battle between the fairy King Oberon and Queen Titania, magical potions, fairy wings, and a bower filled with fireflies and flowers. Many of the shots feature the mischievous Puck disappearing into a ball of light and whizzing through the trees.
