BBC Bristol will trawl the depths of the Pacific Ocean for a second series of underwater broadcasts under the banner Abyss - Live. One part of the day-long broadcast involves presenter Mike deGruy exploring surface waters using a 'movie helmet' that enables him to talk to viewers as he descends through huge shoals of fish. Another section uses a specially designed remote-operated vehicle, The Tiburon, to send back footage of some of the weirdest creatures on the planet, from anglerfish with massive teeth to giant-eyed translucent squid. Abyss - Live airs from 2 November on BBC1.
