IBC 2013: AJA previewed its new Io 4K capture and playback device at IBC.

It is an updated version of its Io model that has been customised for Thunderbolt 2 technology and 4K workflows.

Io 4K will connect to any Thunderbolt 2-enabled device for 4K/UHD and HD/SD capture and playback.

AJA said the Io 4K will be available when the new Mac Pro ships.

“Io 4K bridges 4K workflows to HD, to the latest 4K and Ultra HD displays and to the Mac over the Thunderbolt 2 interface,” said Nick Rashby, president, AJA Video Systems.
