Former XTV executive producer Richard Markell's new branding agency, Markell Associates, has just completed its first job - the branding package for Al-Jazeera Sport, a new channel launching this week. The package included logos, bumpers, stings and idents, as well as title sequences for the channel's news programmes and its Spanish football show, La Liga. The idents were shot on a high-speed 35mm camera and feature tennis players, footballers, golfers and basketball players all filmed in a chromakey set which were then composited in Avid DS at Red Square. The package was directed by Secouet. The DoP was sports specialist Tim Green.
