David Karlak lined up for 5 December event

The director of Ridley Scott’s Alien-themed VR project is to offer an in-depth look at the experience at Virtual Reality Creative Summit, which takes place on the 5 December at Picturehouse, London.

Director David Karlak will explore Alien Covenant: In Utero which was made to accompany the most recent instalment of the blockbuster film franchise in May.

The ground-breaking 360-degree experience offers a terrifyingly close encounter, with the user cast as an alien neomorph at the time of its birth and able to explore the environment around them.

Karlak’s masterclass is one of a series of talks at the summit, organised by Broadcast, which will focus on how some of the latest ground-breaking VR, AR and mixed reality experiences are created.

These masterclasses run alongside the main programme which looks to explore the potential for immersive content across the film, broadcast and advertising industries.

Attendees will have access to content creators from Google, Sony, Microsoft, Vice, Sky and the BBC who will debate the growing influence of immersive content, the state of the market, the constantly evolving tech which is shaping the industry and what content creators need to do to survive and thrive in 2018.

Tickets are selling fast and places at the masterclasses are by pre-booking only as spaces are limited.
