Reseller Altered Images is hoping to showcase new editing talent to the post-production community with the launch of a new awards event.

The Student Post Production Awards 2010 is open to UK-based editors at BTEC, undergraduate and postgraduate level.

It is being put on in association with Avid and JVC.

The winner will get a full Avid suite worth £14,000. Runners up will get various Avid and JVC related prizes.

Winners will be announced at Broadcast Video Expo (BVE) on 18 February 2010.

Altered Images managing director David Johnson said: “Altered Images is aware how difficult it is for students to get their skills noticed and for post facilities to seek out the best talent.

“These awards highlight [our] commitment to the future of the post production community. It’s a huge opportunity for students and we are really looking forward to announcing the winners.”
