Brief Post-production on the Jimmy McGovern-penned series about a penal colony in Australia.

How it was done Colourist Andrew Daniel used Baselight, working with the directors and DoPs to create an epic look for the series, which was shot with an Arri Alexa.

They wanted high levels of contrast with no loss of blacks and vibrant colours that looked ‘real’ and ‘lived in’.

Because the interiors were shot in the UK and the exteriors in Australia, Daniel keyed into the windows to achieve a consistent match between the interior and exterior light.

Senior mixer Dan Johnson used two Avid Pro Tools HDX systems with a 32-fader D-Control desk. The mix was a balancing act between building the density of sound and maintaining the clarity and integrity of the dialogue and performances.
