The BBC's costume and wigs department is launching a service to assist producers in sourcing designers for their productions. Designer Link, which is intended to save production teams' time, will provide details of designers' work from a database of costume designers and make-up artists and hopes to bridge the gap between freelance designers and production. An open day will be held at White City on 13 August for indies and BBC production teams to go in and get advice about forthcoming productions.
