Radio 4 title to be adapted for TV following success on BBC Sounds

Popular BBC supernatural podcast Uncanny is to be adapted into a three-part series for BBC2.
Uncanny will feature real-life stories of supernatural, logic-defying encounters told by the people who experienced them. It will feature analysis from experts and investigations into possible answers to the phenomena.
BBC Studios documentary unit will produce the series, with Joe Myerscough serving as series producer and director. It was commissioned for BBC2 by Jack Bootle, head of commissioning for specialist factual.
The series comes following the success of BBC Radio 4’s The Uncanny podcast, which has been played nearly five million times on BBC Sounds as well as hitting three million downloads on other global platforms.
It is hosted by Danny Robins, who is also behind Radio 4 supernatural podcasts The Battersea Poltergeist and The Witch Farm, as well as hit West End play 2:22 – A Ghost Story.
Bootle promised that the series will be every bit as “spine-chilling when” it transitions to BBC2 and iPlayer later this year.
Robins added: “I’ve been blown away by the response to Uncanny. We’ve built an incredible community around the show, many of whom never realised how interested in the paranormal they were! I’m incredibly excited to get the chance to both continue the podcast and adapt it for TV, as we explore that biggest of all questions – ‘do ghosts exist’? I promise it will be scary and fascinating in equal measure.”
