Big Squid has produced the special effects sequences and titles for children's comedy drama Patrick's Planet. The 13-part, 30-minute series by Tiger Lily Films tells the story of a boy whose life changes when he builds a rocket for a school competition. 3D animator Chris Hawkes used 3D Studio Max to build and animate a series of rocket launches over backplates shot on location around Bristol. 2D compositors Lizzy Cross and Merle Goll composited the shots using Combustion and After Effects. Richard Higgs was creative director. The series starts on 7 November at 4.30pm on BBC1.
