ABC and Hulu in the US to launch competition show tasked with finding new talent

ABC and Hulu in the US have expanded BBC Studios’ Dancing with the Stars format with a spin-off focused on finding up-and-coming performers.
Dancing with the Stars: The Next Pro will feature 12 dancers who move into a house and compete in a grueling audition process while vying for a spot as a pro dancer on the upcoming 35th season of the original series.
The show will be hosted by wildlife conservationist and former contestant Robert Irwin, and premieres 13 July at 8pm ET/PT on ABC, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
Mark Ballas and his mother, Shirley Ballas, will serve as judges on the spin-off, alongside a rotating panel of returning pros.
BBC Studios is producing, with Conrad Green attached as showrunner.
Green also exec produces, alongside Ryan O’Dowd, Krystal Whitney, Alex Cross and Jenny Groom, while Deena Katz and Quinn Lipton are co-executive producers.
The show was among a slew of reality series unveiled by Hulu at its Get Real House unscripted event on Wednesday, where competition format The Mob was also revealed.
Produced by Primal Media and Studio Lambert, the format sees celebrities take part in gangster movie-inspired jobs to survive and hustle their way to win up to $250,000 in cash prizes.
Other shows confirmed include a 22nd season of Project Runway, documentary film Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear, and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show, a new special following the runway show.
