Including a real-life version of The Pitt, two natural history big-hitters and a three-parter on the late princess Diana

As buyers from around the world descend on Cannes next week for Mipcom, Broadcast International picks out a handful of the most unique unscripted shows making their way to the French Riviera.

Brinkworth International’s barely believable Life Support is described as “The Pitt, but real”, while Cineflix Rights has the well-timed Diana Unheard, ahead of the 30th anniversary of the tragic death of the princess and in the wake of her brother’s controversial book.

For natural history lovers, two shows stand out: Fremantle’s Earth’s Magic Moments explores animals’ struggles to get tasks done within the allotted time - something most heading to Mipcom can empathise with all too well - and BBC Studios’ landmark plant series The Green Planet is  suitably blue chip addition to the line-up.

StudioCanal’s The Paris-Tokyo Job provides a perfect pick for those looking for the true but incredible story of a heist that takes viewers across three continents, while Fox’s Uptown Girl: The Christie Brinkley Story provides a deep-dive into the life of the 72-year-old model, actress and entrepreneur.
