Russell T Davies’ Channel 4 drama is produced by ITV Studios-backed Quay Street Productions

Warner Bros. Discovery has picked up Russell T Davies’ thriller Tip Toe for HBO Max across 14 countries in Europe.
The five-parter, which was recently acquired by Starz in the US and English-speaking Canada, is produced by Quay Street Productions and recently debuted on the UK’s Channel 4, becoming its best performing 9pm drama since January 2025.
Following the deal with distributor ITV Studios, HBO Max now has rights in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
Tip Toe stars Alan Cumming (The Traitors) and David Morrissey (Sherwood) as two men who have lived next door to each other in Manchester for almost 15 years.
The pair develop a tense stand-off and become deadly enemies, with the series exploring how prejudices affect relationships.
Davies, Cumming, Quay Street chief exec Nicola Shindler and series director Peter Hoar (The Last Of Us) exec produce.
Series producer is Phil Collinson (It’s A Sin) and cast is by Andy Pryor (Doctor Who).
Jemma Harvey, exec vice president of EMEA & UK sales and distribution at ITV Studios, described the show as a “timely and impactful” drama.
She added: “Russell T Davies has brought to screen a deeply resonant and powerful story, and it is wonderful to see it find a home on HBO Max for viewers across Europe to enjoy.”
In related news, WBD has also acquired Australian drama The Killings at Parrish Station for HBO Max in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg and The Netherlands.
The series, which debuts on the service in the UK and Ireland today, was produced for local streamer Stan by Mark Fennessy’s Helium Pictures in association with ITV Studios, which sells the show globally.
