Destination X and Norway’s Bloodlines among unscripted shows securing prizes in Banff
HBO duo The Pitt and The Chair Company were among the big scripted winners at the 2026 Rockie Awards International Program Competition, while the BBC’s Destination X and Norwegian reality show Bloodlines landed major unscripted prizes.
The Pitt took home best English-language drama series, with creator R. Scott Gemmill here at the Banff World Media Festival to receive the award, while The Chair Company landed the English-language comedy series prize.
Best performance in a comedy went to Aimee Lou Wood for her role in Film Club and Malin Åkerman took the best performance in a drama Rockie for The Hunting Wives.
On the non English-language front, Spanish series Fag Hag (Mariliendre) took the comedy series award and Canada’s Empathie took home both the best drama series and the Grand Jury Prize.
Jesse Armstrong’s Mountainhead added to HBO’s haul by taking the feature length film prize, while Twofour’s Destination X took the competition series & game show award in one of the major unscripted categories.
Canadian production Tous en Chœur landed the best docuseries, No Taste Like Home with Antoni Porowski was handed the best lifestyle show award, and Bloodlines – from The Box poutfit Seefood – took the reality series prize.
The awards were hosted by Allana Harkin (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee), with shows from 45 countries entered into this year’s competition. 151 nominees from 21 countries across 29 categories made the shortlist.
