A+E Factual Studios show to explore key stories from religious text
The History Channel in the US has ordered a new unscripted series exploring the works of The Bible, returning the network to the subject of one of its most popular shows.
The Bible Revealed (working title) is from A+E Factual Studios and will revisit and reinterpret some of the most iconic stories from the religious text.
The show, which comes 12 years after History premiered 10-part scripted series The Bible, will use expert commentary from scholars and theologians to explore key biblical events such as the Great Flood, the Ten Plagues, and the Garden of Eden.
“The Bible Revealed reaffirms our mission to tell globally significant stories with depth and integrity and this series offers an opportunity to revisit these powerful stories in a fresh, compelling way for both long-time viewers and new generations,” said Eli Lehrer, exec vice president and head of programming at History.
“We are proud to continue our legacy of producing premium documentary programming that explores the texts and traditions that have shaped our world. This is storytelling with reverence, scale, and vision - exactly the kind of project our audiences expect from us.”
A+E Global Media holds worldwide distribution rights to the show.
