Yesterday’s Girl has been created by Cal McGhee and is being coproduced by Tailored Films and Portugal’s BeActive. The drama - along with the six other chosen projects - has secured €300,000 in funding.

Also selected is Kris Gaens and Rutger Beckers’ Charlatan, which is being coproduced by Belgium’s Sputnik TV and the Netherlands’ Horizon Film, and Dead Women Talking, which is being coproduced by Helsinki-Film and Estonia’s Cuba Films.

Other projects are: Javier Galán’s animation My Little Heroes, from Spain’s Peekaboo Animation and Belgium’s Fabrique Production; Tim Oliehoek’s Red Light Empire, from Lemming Film in the Netherlands and Belgium; and The Boy Who Could Listen to the Soil, which was created by Neritan Zinxhiria and is being coproduced by Greece’s Foss Productions and Albania’s Art Film.

Rounding out the projects is The Disappearance of Sara Lindert, which was created by Kateřina Šardická and Miro Šifra. Czechia’s Barletta and Slovakia’s Truestory produce.

The Council of Europe Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions aims to empower European indies and help them foster new relationships. The organisation said this year’s projects “bring together diverse cultural contexts and explore themes of justice, memory, identity, gender, power, belonging and historical change.”
