Unscripted exec named president at Beast Industry Studios
Former NBC Universal unscripted chief Corie Henson has joined Mr Beast’s production outfit.
Henson, who departed the US studio in January, has now emerged as president of Beast Industry Studios and will report into Beast Industries chief Jess Housenbold.
Beast Industry Studios oversees the YouTube channels fronted by My Beast (real name Jimmy Donaldson) and its long form output, including the recently renewed Beast Games on Prime Video.
Henson left NBCUniversal following a restructure of its business that saw the company create a cable TV division and a separate unit housing its TV studios, NBC network, cablenet Bravo and streamer Peacock.
She had overseen major titles such as Deal or No Deal Island, Love Island – including its high-profile move to Peacock from CBS – and The Traitors US durin gher tenure.
Henson was also behind the recent commission of Destination X, the buzzy Belgian format that has also been co-commissioned by the UK’s BBC as part of their creative pact, among numerous others. US trade Deadline broke news of Henson’s appointment.
