ITV Studios-owned production company to rebrand as Plimsoll Studios
ITV Studios-owned Plimsoll Productions has rebranded and restructured around five creative divisions, with US chief Alan Eyres taking on a new role.
Now called Plimsoll Studios, the Skyscraper Live and Secret Garden producer will be made up of: Natural History & Adventure; Live; Entertainment; Family & Kids; and Digital.
Eyres has been promoted to chief development officer and will oversee projects at the five divisions, reporting to Plimsoll founder and chief exec Grant Mansfield.
Family & Kids, a new division, is to be led by creative directors Alex Ranken and Ged Mansfield, while the company’s digital division that was established last year has added Neil Warwick to its roster.
Warwick joins from Aardman Animations, where he spent more than a decade helping transform the studio’s digital business.
Of the wider rejig, Mansfield said: “Alan has done a stellar job since joining us three years ago, helping to develop and executive produce some of our best and boldest titles, including Skyscraper Live and Pompeii: Out of Time with Tom Hiddleston.
“His new role puts him in a pivotal creative position at Plimsoll Studios, giving him strategic oversight of a hugely exciting, ambitious and diverse development slate.”
Eyres added: “In an on-demand world where audiences have unprecedented choice, only the biggest and boldest ideas are able to break through. I’m thrilled to be playing a role in a production company synonymous with creatively audacious and ambitious projects across multiple genres.”
Plimsoll’s chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Jonathan Jackson, oversees the company’s commercial digital strategy.
He said that exploiting the company’s IP in the digital space “is a key strategic priority”, adding: “Neil has done an incredible job building a digital presence for Aardman and we are confident he’ll do the same for Plimsoll.”
