SVT orders new, inclusive dating format

Swedish public broadcaster SVT has linked with Banijay Entertainment’s Nordic prodco Meter/Jarowskij on an inclusive dating format.

Double Up Love (w/t) sees a group of bi people brought together in a villa to explore attraction, emotions and new relationships.

The bi-singles navigate relationships freely, using the high-stakes ‘list room’, where mutual choices lead to matches, and being left off means elimination.

Meter/Jarowskij is led by Madelene Hansson and prodcues local versions of formats including MasterChef, Deal or No Deal, Good Luck Guys, Fortune Hotel and LEGO Masters.

Paramount’s C5 ramps up drama

An inheritance dispute, a daytime TV stalker and detective series Death in Benidorm (w/t) are among a nine-pronged scripted slate from 5, as it ramps up its drama offering.

Paramount UK deputy chief content officer and head of scripted Sebastian Cardwell said the slate “showcases the breadth and ambition of 5’s storytelling”. It comprises six new series as well as new runs of The Hardacres and The Teacher, and a Madame Blanc Christmas special.

Regular 5 drama producer Clapperboard is behind a trio of new titles: detective mystery Cooper and Fry; four-parter Number One Fan; and Death in Benidorm (w/t), which is a co-production with Blackbox Multimedia.

The latter is a six-part series which sees former detective Dennis Crown swap the chaos of the UK for a quieter life running a bar in Benidorm. Read more
