Interactive graphics specialist Ease Live has announced support for VAST (Video Ad Serving Template), making it easier for rights holders, broadcasters and streamers to monetise premium moments with on-stream video ad formats and sponsorships, without extending ad breaks or interrupting the content.

This helps publishers scale contextual, moment-based advertising across web, mobile, over the top (OTT) and Connected TV (CTV) environments, including Apple TV and Roku.

Ease Live now enables customers to trigger overlays around goals, home runs, match highlights, substitutions, time-outs, live stats reveals, and post-play recaps.

The company delivers ads as a synchronised overlay layer on top of the stream, making it possible for video and interactive content to display as overlays or squeeze backs without disrupting the viewing experience.

The overlays render on top of existing streams and don’t rely on player-specific ad formats or stitching ads into the stream. Overlay ads can be triggered by metadata sources, from live sports feeds to scene-level signals and content keywords.

“Our customers want more monetisation options that feel native to the viewing experience,” said Kjetil Horneland, CEO, Ease Live. “This update reduces friction for agencies and brands while helping publishers create incremental, contextual inventory during live action and on-demand viewing.”
