Total is a 14% increase on last season
Formula E has revealed that 561 million people tuned into season 11, a 14% increase on season 10.
The 16-race season spanned 10 iconic venues, including new race locations in Miami and Jeddah; a return to Jakarta and double-headers in Monaco (a first for the Principality in any motorsport championship) as well as a brand new venue in Tokyo.
It also saw the introduction of the GEN3 Evo race car - the quickest accelerating FIA single-seater, hitting 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds - and the debut of Pit Boost - a mid-race feature that sees cars given a 10% energy increase (3.85kWh) through a 30-second, 600kW boost in the pit lane.
In addition the total of 561 million watching around the world, the data collected by Kantar also revealed a 33 million average cumulative audience for each individual race, 16% higher than season 10, and 41% and 12% year-on-year cumulative audience increases in the UK and Germany respectively for Formula E related coverage.
ITV and TNT Sports show the competition in the UK, with the former recently extending its rights deal for a further two years.
