Netflix has revealed details of its forthcoming show, Beat Luke Littler.

The production sees host Gary Lineker and analyst Richard Osman join Littler in a high stakes live darts event that pits amateurs against the world number one for a chance to win £501,000.

The live special (on Netflix on 30 October) will see 20 competitors step up to the oche to challenge Littler.

Osman’s role is to break down the numbers and real-time stats behind the gameplay. He said: “As a huge darts fan, and proud owner of a signed photo of Jocky Wilson, I couldn’t be more excited to join the amazing Beat Luke Littler live show. He’s the greatest player in the world. But 20 legs in a row? I honestly think someone is going to win that £501k. It’s going to be an incredible night.”

Lineker adds: “I am delighted to be deepening my relationship with Netflix after such a brilliant experience with The Rest Is Football at the World Cup, and Beat Luke Littler feels like exactly the kind of unpredictable, live event television that gets me excited – I cannot wait to see who fancies their chances.”

Beat Luke Littler is being produced in partnership with the PDC, the governing body behind professional darts. Regional heats for the competition will be held in Manchester and London next month to find the final 20 players who will earn a spot in the live broadcast.

Beat Luke Littler is produced by Workerbee (part of Banijay UK).
