LaLiga wins court order against VPNs
LaLiga has won a piracy related court order against VPN services NordVPN and ProtonVPN.
The ruling means that the VPN providers are recognised as responsible intermediaries in the piracy of LALIGA matches and requires them to immediately block, within Spain, access to specific IP addresses identified as illegally streaming protected audiovisual content.
This is the first such order against VPN services in Spain, and adds to similar rulings issued in France.

Footballco opens Riyadh studio
Footballco has opened a production studio in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The facility will be used to “greatly expand” in-studio content for its Yalla Goal, Yalla Fans and Yalla Girl brands, as well as branded content for commercial partners.
Footballco now has 20 full time staff in the country, after first opening an office there in December 2024 - including the recent hires of two presenters for Yalla Goal: Mohammed Bargat and Waleed Alshargi (better known as Shargi), who have a combined following of over 900,000 on their personal channels.

Viaplay to show all EFL Championship matches in Nordics
Viaplay has agreed a multi-year rights deal to air every match from the EFL Championships across the Nordics.
The agreement runs until 2028 and covers the play-offs in addition to regular season games. Matches on Viaplay will feature English commentary, with selected fixtures enhanced by local-language commentary.
Viaplay already airs the Premier League, Carabao Cup, FA Cup, selected League One and League Two games, and their play-offs.
